“I’m in and I’m in to win”

Hillary Clinton is officially in the 2008 presidential race. Here’s an excerpt from her website.

“I’m not just starting a campaign, though, I’m beginning a conversation with you, with America,” she said. “Let’s talk. Let’s chat. The conversation in Washington has been just a little one-sided lately, don’t you think?”

As we appproach this upcoming election, we are beginning to see the campaigning begin. As Christians we should see this as a great time and opportunity to promote a wholistic Christian perspective on different political issues. What are some of the issues you guys care about?

well abortion for starters. we’ve talked alittle before about the power of the presidency over the issue of abortion, and it think we concluded that it was relatively small; but lets also remember Bush’s veto on the stem cell research proposal, there is alot that could happen in that issue alone if Hillary is elected president. i think that one thing we must remember about Hillary Clinton, she is a liberal by default, and a moderate when she has to be. That being said, there is alot that she could possibly do that could seriously harm Iraq, and conservative Christianity (cultural moral value wise)… so, we must be mindful and thoughful in these comming years; and more importantly, we have alot to be pray about…

Why do you assume that a “liberal” agenda is wrong in Iraq? So your main issues are abortion, stem cell research (or lack thereof), and Iraq?

Well of course those are not my only issues, this is a deep subjet and much thought needs to be considered when evaluating political positions from a Christian perspective.
I didnt say that the liberal agenda is wrong in regards to Iraq. What i meant was that Hillary could seriously hurt Iraq if she moves to suddently withdraw alot of troups (which alot of liberals want.. i understand some do not and im not clear on what Hillary wants). I honestly dont know what should be done in Iraq and quite frankly, i pitty those who have to solve this problem. I do, however, take issue to the position of liberalism on issues such as abortion, stem cell research etc.. and the outcome of the war in iraq in regards to the Iraqi people and the saftey of the citizens of the US. Perhaps i am uninformed, but most of the “liberal” if you will, solutions to Iraq leave the Iraqi people in shambles. How does that help promote a caring for the poor? How does that solve the condition that the iraqi people are in now and bring a good outcome for them. This is what i take issue with. Are we concerned with outselves or the greater prosperity of mankind? So, no, i do not presume that the liberal position is wrong in Iraq, i have no dea how it would turn out, perphaps for the good, perphaps for the bad; however, it does leave one with a sense of dispair when reflecting on the suffering people in Iraq, and that our only solution is to withdraw. Anyway, i would consider my main issues would be the sanctity of human life, preserving human dignity (the complete ontology of a human being) (ie: stem cell research), the outcome of the Iraqi people in regards to prosperity… I’ll leave it at that for now. cheers. God bless

No matter who is elected there is alot that has to be done. Social Security is a big issue, especially with a lot of the baby boomers retiring. Of course abortion, stem-cell research and gay marriage are still important, but there are so many more things to consider and as christians we are not called to be republicans because of abortion. (if you know me, you know it’s unlike me) The war is a big deal, education, immagration; these are all things that come into play. Anyway ya’ll Huckabees got my vote.

i think that the war in irag is a big one for me. we need to get out, enough said. i dislike hilary and if it’s republican, i probably won’t care for it either. i’m in a bit of a bind when it comes to political matters. i think people fretting over gay marriage is not only lame but counter-christian. culture wars aren’t a good thing! the environmental problems (global warming, for example, as well as pollution and over-population) are also big on my list. ugh.

    i hate politics.
